Tom Russell...a great song writer and all round great guy. I think this is a traditional song but it is still hard to believe that a rooster can get you rooting for it in a song...but it can and you do.
That's Dave Alvin at the end of the clip. A big collaborator of Tom's over the years.
Joe Ely does a great version of this song also.
