Colbert Delivers...

...as usual.

With so Many...

administration investigative targets to choose from, it would behoove the Congress to slow walk many of the more serious criminal cases. I think it wise to carefully time any potential indictments and prosecutions to hit the ground post 2009 inauguration of a Dem Prez....

Best not to let any of scumbags avail themselves of the sure to be ubiquitous Bush pardons. Oh, the singing they'll do then when they have to work without a net. Good times if it is done right.

And that means....no fucking way do you let anyone get away with going gently. If Watergate has taught us anything, it is that if you don't totally kneecap these assholes....they'll come back in another administration to fuck you over all over again. Can't emphasize that enough.

Uhhhhh...

still not Yankee blogging but...

The Red Sox and Indians sure have lost a few games off of their previously insurmountable leads....hmmmmm.

It may be hard to believe but...

I've got 2 of these living temporarily in my back yard. A favor for a friend resulted in a 12' x 6' x 6' enclosure and voila...mini zoo.

Weird huh?

This Guy Gives Hacks...

a bad name....what a douchebag.

At Some Point...

the Bushie's will have to take Fredo fishing and not the kind of fishing that is better than any day working either....

Until then, they'll keep sending him up the Hill to lie thru his teeth and obstruct justice with smarminess only a Repug seems to be able to muster. It's a wonder to behold really....Our system of government has changed to the point where schools will have to change curriculum to accurately reflect the end of checks and balances. We no longer have the government spelled out in the constitution...we just don't.

Not Yankee Blogging...

because that would probably lead to the predictable jinx that invariably follows such postings....

But there is a team in NY playing some pretty good ball right now. Hmmmmm.

Dog Fighting...

is a dirty business and it looks like Michael Vick is gonna find out the hard way. Apparently:

According to the indictment, Vick was in the middle of everything from beginning
to end. He purchased a vacant piece of property for $34,000, the indictment
says. He then had sheds built for training dogs and staging fights and a fence
erected to shield the operation from view. And finally, the indictment says, he
had a two-story frame house with a basketball court put up as a residence for
the people taking care of the dogs. If you believe the indictment, the Vick
property had everything anyone could want in a dogfighting operation.

Nice Guy huh?

Vitter is Back Baby!.....

That hooker lovin scamp David Vitter is back in DC and his wife has got his back apparently.....she took a few minutes to scold the press for the interest in her hippie critter of a husband...how nice that family can do stuff together like that.

I have to say that after seeing the wife, it's hard to fault the guy too much.

Bush....

has consistently conflated the disaster in Iraq with 9/11 by telling us that the same people we are fighting there are the ones that attacked us in 2001.....That's actually partly true but not in the way the he has been trying to frame it.

Turns out that most...not some...MOST of the suicide bombers in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia...just like the 9/11 hijackers. Hmmmm, the same ally that has been so helpful to the Bush family over the years? Yep, those are the guys.

When Bush talks about foreign fighters, he never mentions the percentages and certainly never correctly identifies the group most highly represented and launching the deadliest attacks. The idea is to make people believe that Iran, Syria and other "bad" guys are invading Iraq and killing people. I guess Iran and Syria have also been providing some fodder but the fact is that Saudia Arabians is again the biggest offender.....and almost nobody other than the LA Times has said anything about it. Stunning.

They are still not biggest problem for the US in Iraq but the Bush deception on the facts is just business as usual.

I guess you...

can probably cross this guy off Larry's List.

...whoa!...that's pretty damn funny. ...Maybe he can get someone in the lock up to cooperate.....though I doubt he can get more than a couple cigs for his efforts.

Tony Snow...

Says that Iraq is not in a civil war because Sunni's and Shia aren't massing armies in battles against each other.

I'm pretty sure that Tony won't concede this point until they don Union and Confederate uni's.

The WH Claims..

of Executive Privilege are decidedly weak on their face according to most legal experts like Jonathan Turley but that doesn't do much to diminish the effectiveness of the tactic. The Bushies don't stand on principle and conviction, they just want to do what ever they choose to do. That's it....not shooting for establishing a precedent based on deeply felt political ideals. They know they can play out the string with any court decision potentially more than a year out ...but just in case, the Justice Dept. stands ready to put the final kabosh on any enforcement should the need arise.

The Judiciary Committee needs to deal harshly with Miers and Taylor if they do indeed show up for testimony. No one expects much in the way of answers but they should be shamed and humilated for the blatant FU's the Bushies have been dealing out.

Maybe they should be waterboarded since it is not torture and totally legal and all....

Like T says..

http://tbogg.blogspot.com/

Consistently great fare....and for a soccer fan and Yankee hater...he seems like an ok dude..although I'd take issue with some of the music...but this Neil is classic..scroll down, scroll down.

The Previous Post..

got me thinking about The Band and all of the trials and tribulations they seemed to experience. Rick Danko passed last year and Robby can't seem to patch things up and take the high road with Levon.

Richard Manuel was a big part of the "sound" of The Band both vocally and musically. His voice is almost instantly recognizable as part the mix of some of The Band's best songs.

Sadly, he committed suicide. I wonder why more wasn't made of it? Anyway, here is one of his solo's with his mate's backing..

We All Can Feel...

like this sometimes...I listen to this version frequently running..Pops and Mavis backing the Band is a twofer you don't see too often anymore. Check Danko out as the priceless show he always was. This one is a mile eater because it is so good that you can't help but focus on the great music....as opposed to the chapping of your legs and nether regions.

Talk About..

light blogging...tell me about it.

Especially with so much rich material available...preoccupation with so many things summer keep me otherwise indisposed lately.

I'll have to work on something decent soon.

Congrats to the Rocket..

on win # 350...Wow, that's pretty unbelievable in today's game. A number we won't likely see again either.

It won't make the Yanks Champions but it it's very impressive anyway.

Looks Like Scooter...

won't have to change his nickname after all...No real surprise there but the craven hypocrisy of the Bushies is still stunning to behold.

At least now the WH Press corps won't have to take "no comment on ongoing legal proceedings" as an answer anymore. So...I'm waiting for some follow up...anybody?

It's ok to lie to Federal investigators and the Grand Jury if you are a Bush guy. Hmmmm, can you imagine the number of pardons that will be issued at the end of the Bush term?

It's gonna be a lot but don't think for a minute that all the kings men aren't already aware of the quid, the pro and the ultimate quo...
