Pottery Barn Redux...
One of the somewhat overlooked aspects of the new Iraq escalation strategy is that now Bush can no longer claim that he is merely following the advice of his advisors and commanders on the ground. As the self described decision-maker, he won't have the aforementioned cover he repeatedly sought previously. All of the strategic and even tactical ops success or failure lead directly back to him. It may be the first time in his life that he will face that kind of accountability. Lonely at the top, ain't it?
