ABC Nightly News with Charles Gibson had General Jack Keene (ret.), one of the supposed architects and strong advocates of the surge option on the newscast last night. Identified as someone who consulted with the administration, he proceeded to lay out all the positives of a surge prior to the speech. No one bothered to point out he presumably authored much of it or even ask him about the extent of his involvement.
I think most interested observers are aware that the plan is a Kagan/Keene creation...it seems though that ABC should either engage a guest directly on that aspect of their participation or at least point out the clear bias before asking for an evaluation from them.
Oh...by the way, he thought it was a super plan.
