This is an AP...
filed story but the Times put it up and I have to say that I doubt the veracity of the statement...let's do some research shall we?
The Yankees tied the season series 7-all after losing the first four meetings. The teams play four more times this year, including Thursday afternoon. New York will go for a series sweep when 15-game winner Chien-Ming Wang faces Boston's Curt Schilling.

Remiss I Am...
and blogging I'm not as yet on the hilarious antics of the Repugs and our great leaders. I guess "Wide Stance" is no longer just a baseball term and the fishin' is just great on the lake as Fredo will soon find out.
Not to mention a few hundred thou military weapons gone missing and Gen. P likely to face more than a few questions about the aforementioned come 9/11.
delicious stuff....which I hope to delve into soon.

Barack Obama Says..
He would loosen the travel restrictions between Cuba and US...It's hard to believe such a outdated law still exists. We could use more visits by these guys I think. Buena Vista Social Club with Ry Cooder. Cooder was the driving force in drawing attention to this great music. Pretty sure he did OK financially on it too..Great CD.

Kinda funny local story to LA....
A while back there was a small lake not much bigger than a pond really....in Harbor City where a full size alligator was found to be living. Apparently a few birds were snatched off the shoreline in full view of some disbelieving park visitors. Anyway....the local press nicknamed the gator Reggie and they tried to catch him for about a year. They even brought in people from Florida and Louisiana familiar with trapping gators. After a while, the story seemed to go away because they couldn't catch him.
This year, a few months ago they got their gator and shipped him off to the LA Zoo. He had to go into quarantine for a couple of weeks and then opened in a new exhibit to great fanfare.
Yesterday it climbed a retaining wall and then scaled a 5 ft chain link fence and escaped it's enclosure. Zoo officials found Reggie within the general area before the zoo opened. That is some gator!

Rush Fan?
If he had any money.....I'd like to sell something to him because if he really believes that Repugs are in his corner....geez.
Graham acknowledged that he watches TV, listens to music and sometimes sleeps in his blue, 1989 Buick Century. The car is parked on a concrete slab, mostly covered by a large, blue tarp that is secured with bricks and cinder blocks.
An extension cord from the house to the car provides power for a 13-inch TV, an oscillating fan and a radio.
"I get better reception there than I do in there," he said, pointing at the house. "I listen to Rush (Limbaugh) every day, just about."
Go to..
Tbogg and check out the Joe Strummer video on his pre-friday random ten....very cool song.
For the uninformed, Joe was the front man for The Clash who had some pretty good tunes. His last and best album was a compilation of interesting music that included Johnny Cash and other famous folks. A really great CD..... (STREETCORE by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros)
didn't want to steal T's thunder but here is something to wet the whistle...
This song appeared on both Johnny's and Joe's separate CD released the same year.
The lead lyrics on this song were swapped by Strummer and Cash on their respective CD's....interesting huh?

Biden suggests bringing criminal charges against Bush admin. In a recent interview with Newsweek, Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) said he is opposed to impeachment proceedings because they would disrupt Congressional business. “But he has a pretty stunning Plan B“:
The alternative, and it’s taken me time to think through, I think we should be acquiring and accumulating all the data that is appropriate for possibly bringing criminal charges against members of this administration at a later date.

With so Many...
administration investigative targets to choose from, it would behoove the Congress to slow walk many of the more serious criminal cases. I think it wise to carefully time any potential indictments and prosecutions to hit the ground post 2009 inauguration of a Dem Prez....
Best not to let any of scumbags avail themselves of the sure to be ubiquitous Bush pardons. Oh, the singing they'll do then when they have to work without a net. Good times if it is done right.
And that means....no fucking way do you let anyone get away with going gently. If Watergate has taught us anything, it is that if you don't totally kneecap these assholes....they'll come back in another administration to fuck you over all over again. Can't emphasize that enough.

Last of a Breed Tour...
The great Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard doing the fantastic Townes Van Zant song Pancho and Lefty. Not a great video quality but terrific version. A Willie specialty for sure but Merle brings it too....
What is it....
about Repugs always trying to cop someone's joint. ....And why didn't he just offer to pay like other Repugs...

You're Kidding Right???....
Charles Murray, the owner of the mining company whose employees have been trapped 2000 ft below ground since dawn on Mon. took the time from his press conference covered on CNN to extoll the virtues of coal energy and helpfully provided statistics to reinforce the importance of coal to the American way of life.
I'm sure the families of the trapped miners were able to take great comfort in that.
